Mackenzie is a naturally gifted and very accomplished singer/songwriter. Mackenzie performs and writes a blend of R&B and Pop music. She has been compared vocally to Rhianna. She has been performing for audiences since the age of five and has taken dance training since the age of 3. With her incredible passion for music, her numerous years of stage performance and her background in dance Mackenzie is a captivating stage performer. Mackenzie demands excitement of her performances by incorporating well executed dance moves and elaborate costumes to her rich vocals.
Mackenzie's experience and accomplishments are extensive. She believes strongly in giving back to the community through her gift of song and this year has performed for over 40 high profile non-profit organizations and benefit concerts throughout the city. She has performed the National Athem(s) for the Oilers Hockey Team at Rexall Place many times and has performed alongside Paul Lorieau. As well she has performed the National Anthems for Oil Kings Hockey Team and Cracker Cats Baseballl Team. Mackenzie has been featured on 91.7 The Bounce Radio Station, City TV, The Global Morning Show, Breakfast Television with Bridget Ryan and shared the stage with "The David Fosters Band" at the Winspear Centre. Mackenzie has also taken her talents to the "Seas" where she sang and danced on "The Royal Caribbean Cruise Line".
Mackenzie just recently put on her very own concert called "The Wait is Over". The concert was held on June 18, 2010 at the Eva. O. Howard Theatre and recieved a crowd of over 400 people. This was not just a show but a "production". With a combination of elaborate lights, elaborate costumes, a large amount of very skilled dancers ( "Details" pro hip hop group, "Shadow Twins", "Third Street Beat", "Vic school of the Arts" Jazz Dancers, "Edmonton Contemporary Dancers" ), as well as backup singers and acoustic accompaniment from "Pure Artists" and guest singer "Ryan Mcgale", the show was a high energy, eye catching production and proved to be an enormous success.
Mackenzie accolades include: 2nd place at the "91.7 the Bounce Showdown 2009" and 5 time winner of the Northern Star Talent Search (Junior Division). Mackenzie has had 5 years of experience working with a rock band which has given her insurmountable experience when working with musicians and has improved her ability greatly as a stage performer. She produced a Children’s CD when she was 9 years of age and is no stranger to the recording studio.
Mackenzie is in the process of writing and recording her original songs with the hopes of creating her own CD very soon. She also has plans one day have "The Wait is Over Concert" travel Alberta.
